Summary: The flag at issue is not really “burnt.” It was modified with art materials to make it look as though it had been burned and hung in a public space near the art department. University officials plan to have an open forum discussing not only the place of the flag in American culture but also the associated issues of free speech that come into play with this display. The photo used by the Daily Caller was provided by a University of Dayton student on condition of anonymity.
